INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - People from around the state attended Saturday's the ribbon cutting ceremony outside Lucas Oil Stadium. They wanted to be a part of the historic day and celebrate Opening Day.
An estimated 100,000 people were expected to tour Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday. The public tours began after the ribbon cutting ceremony.
It was a carnival like atmosphere at Lucas Oil Stadium. Thousands of fans dressed in blue arrived for the opportunity to see inside.
"I've been out here in line since 8:15. I wouldn't miss it for the world," one Colt' fan said.
Fans weren't the only ones excited.
"I can't tell you how I feel today but look at Blue, that's me, I'm just too cool to do it," Forrest Lucas, President and CEO of Lucas Oil Products said.
The grand opening marked the beginning of a new era not just for the Colts but for Indianapolis and the State of Indiana.
